Chemical Laboratory Manager
Management of dry room and laboratory in shared R&D center in Brussels. Reporting in between each work session to ensure good transfer of information.
The Responsibilities
- Responsible for daily running of the dry room and laboratory: equipment, HSE protocols and standards, waste control.
- Responsible for managing stock and ordering necessary material.
- Regular reporting on the work sessions.
- Training the team for all aspects of working in dry room using sulfide material in -60° dp.
- Good transversal skills in order to communicate efficiently between the different partners and ensure a fluid transition between work sessions.
- Assist in manufacture of electrodes, cell assembly and test prototypes (pouch cells).
- Follow the cycling tests of the pouch cells and communicate the results.
- Work in an international & rigorous lab environment.
- Being agile in a dynamic environment.
Skills and Knowledge requirements
- Experience in chemical laboratory management
- Knowledge of applicable safety requirements
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, related supplies, computer hardware and software and their applications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in similar job at automotive or battery manufacturer and/or electrochemistry laboratory.
- Degree or equivalent in Chemistry/Electrochemistry/Materials Science
- Fluent in English and French
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong communication skills
- Independent
- Good team player
- Understanding of battery related technology and Manufacturing processes of Li-ion cell is a bonus (Dry room environment, Electrode formulation, pouch cells assembly and testing)
