Technical Engineer Aircraft Structures

During the operation of an aircraft, it is important to ensure that the physical integrity of this one is intact during maintenance operations. As an Aeronautical Structures Technical Engineer, you ensure that freight planes remain operational.

What are your responsibilities?

The Technical Engineer Structures supports the Engineering Manager in the assigned domain with Structures expertise to:

  • Control all Continuing Airworthiness engineering activities to assure the Continuing Airworthiness of the aircraft in the fleet
  • Perform Technical reviews of the aircraft as to contribute to achieve sustainable and reliable levels of the on–time, safe and cost-effective performances for the Operator and Customers.

– Identify, review, produce and follow-up of technical documentation related to Airworthiness Directives and Non-mandatory Modifications (SB, SL, STC, or Service docs) to ensure adequate planning and on-time accomplishment.

– Perform engineering analysis and define root-cause corrective actions for assigned occurrence reports.

– Repair and Dent and Buckle findings follow-up, liaise with OEM’s/Part21 holders repair solutions and the certification there-of, File management and Engineering representative during checks

– Contribute to fleet and reliability related maintenance activities

– Provide technical support to other departments in resolving repeated defects and other technical issues

– Liaise with Airlines/MRO/OEMs to enhance effectiveness and for innovation

– Professional communication and develop relationships with other departments, subcontractors/Suppliers, OEM/MROs/other Airlines for an effective and efficient co-operation aiming to improve overall company performances.

– To report timely, accurate and concise maintenance / modification planning highlights to all stakeholders internally and externally to make sure they all have the relevant information to achieve their objectives.

– To liaise with Flight Operations, Chief pilots, Fleet Managers, Maintenance Control and contracted MRO’s to ensure a smooth aircraft positioning/input prior to scheduled line/base maintenance.

Who are you ?

– Bachelor in engineering/aviation, or equivalent level by experience e.g. as ground engineer in base maintenance.

– Experience in Continuing Airworthiness, Part-M/145/21 requirements and with the specific aircraft type(s) B737, B747 and B757 is an asset.

– Computer literate, MS Office with good administration skills.

– Good command of the English language (written and spoken).

– Ability to think, read/absorb and interest in the aviation industry technology/developments/innovations

– Able to demonstrate accuracy, analytical skills, and eagerness to improve

– Open minded, team player, developed communication skills with all levels in the Airline and with /Suppliers/MRO’s.

– Ability to function successfully in a pressure environment.

– Work in an organized way to be able to meet set deadlines.

Line Maintenance Controller

It is not uncommon for an aircraft in operation to encounter technical problems. It is important to be able to provide the right answers, to see if the plane can still fly and if it is impossible to do everything to fix it by finding the right solutions in short times. This is the role of the Line Maintenance Controller.

What are your responsibilities?

To supervise the daily (line/light) maintenance operations and pro-actively takes the necessary actions with relevant parties to secure all (Short Haul, Long Haul) fleets, and follow-up with MCC’s of 3rd Parties/Other carriers to ensure their fleets, all operate according to the required flight schedules in the Networks. To align all parties to jointly achieve making the aircraft available in the required configuration (9P, 10P, etc) at the dispatch reliability targets and balanced efficiency with the compliance to safety/airworthiness requirements, at optimal cost level.

During the duty shift the Line Maintenance Controller takes the lead/takes decisions to ensure an adequate preparation with sourcing/ordering parts/tooling, the availability of sufficient skilled resources and downtime to execute scheduled Maintenance work, troubleshooting, repairs and/or recovery missions. Through direct communication or the Daily Maintenance meetings, gives direction to assigned Line/Light maintenance planners, Fleet Advisors/Support Group specialists, AOG desk members and relevant MRO contacts and ensure an adequate daily maintenance operation in Liège and at outstations.

To optimize the availability of relevant information and build strong relations with local MROs, perform occasional surveillance duties on the ramp/in hangar to ensure an optimal communication/timeline management on issues that arise during daily/night/weekend operations and/or likewise with the supervision on the completion of executed repairs and the associated quality of paperwork for release.

Who are you ?

• Licensed B1 (or) /B2 engineer with at least 10 years’ experience, or equivalent

• Good understanding of OEM manuals (AMM/SRM/SSM), applicable Part145/-M regulations.

• Negotiation/convincing skills, work systematically, analytic, and ability to improvise/creative.

• Ability to collect relevant information, apply clear/neutral judgement, set priorities, to take decisions.

• Excellent communication skills with all levels/different cultures, clear formulation, ability to listen.

• Helicopter view, ability to work under pressure (deal with stress), chair meetings.

• Ability to find (alternative) solutions with others/drive others to a coordinated common goal.

• Discipline and ability to edit and timely provide accurate/concise highlight reports

• Computer literate with good administration skills, familiar with MS office (AMOS is a pré).

• Fluent technical and conversational English/French (preferred) both written and spoken.

• To maintain a professional environment, respecting confidentiality, Company/Aircraft data security.

• To take initiative to propose areas of improvement.

•Leadership; can represent the company.

What are your responsibilities?

• To ensure that all: o Scheduled line maintenance is carried out in accordance with the approved Aircraft Maintenance Schedule of the entire fleet.

o Unscheduled line maintenance tasks are carried out in accordance with the defined limits.o Associated administrative works in the Maintenance Information System and filing are accomplished.

• To prepare line maintenance tasks and small work packs, coordinate for execution with various MRO’s, taking into account the optimal use of available manpower and available ground time between flights.

• To support and advise the Maintenance Control Center with tail assignment, maintenance limits on scheduled and unscheduled works and maintenance slots in order to come to optimal production and recovery plans.

• Optimize all short- and longer term (un-)scheduled line maintenance activities. You will be closely cooperating with internal and external departments, such as our Operations Control Centre, Flight OPS, Engineering, Commercial Department.

• Together with the team, you will prepare the scheduled maintenance work packages considering the availability of the required parts, tools and manpower skills to be able to execute the maintenance activities within defined Turn-Around Times and costs.

• Optimize the tail assignment, you will be responsible to ensure our aircraft are utilized as efficient as possible.

• Support the operations by sourcing AOG parts and organize aircraft recovery worldwide, will be part of the daily challenge.

Who are you ?

• Three years experience in an aviation maintenance or CAMO environment
• Experience with B737, B747 and B757 is an asset.
• Experience in planning and organization of aircraft maintenance is an asset.
• Good command of the English and French language (written and spoken).
• Team-player, good communication skills with all levels in the organization and at suppliers/MRO’s Ability to function successfully in a pressure environment.
• Work in an organized way to be able to meet set deadlines.
• Negotiation and convincing skills.
