Your responsibilities?

As a Development Engineer for Electric Drives, you will be part of a high-tech environment and work with the team to ensure that product concepts are analyzed, simulated, and optimized as a complete system rather than a set of components. Your tasks will include various activities:

  • Benchmarking and staying up-to-date with innovations in the market
  • Defining objectives and requirements for advanced product development

Who are you?

YOUR ROLE

As a CAD Designer, you will be responsible for designing automotive driveline components and systems for our in-house engineered products. You will play a vital role in creating driveline solutions for cutting-edge electric vehicles, as well as supporting the evolution of our current products, such as dual clutch transmissions.

Using CAD software, you will progress from concept designs to fully detailed product designs ready for production. Throughout the design and development process, you will ensure the overall system integrity from a design perspective, considering factors such as part clearances, 3D model quality, design feasibility for component manufacturing and assembly, and vehicle interface compatibility. Collaboration with development engineers and design colleagues will be essential to achieve optimized design solutions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Own the design process from concept to fully detailed production-ready designs.

· Create 3D concept models of components and systems.

· Detail the models with dimensions and tolerances for analysis and manufacturing purposes.

· Collaborate with development colleagues to resolve design issues identified through analysis (FEA, CFD, etc.) or testing.

· Create and/or review the resulting 3D models and their 2D representations.

· Participate in design reviews with a multidisciplinary team before initial release and changes to designs.

· Contribute to product benchmarks, first-time assemblies, issue resolution, cost and weight initiatives, and concept designs for new/advanced projects.

· Continuously update your knowledge in design methodology, tools, and manufacturing technologies.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

· Passion for design and a practical understanding of 3D concepts.

· Degree in (Electro-) Mechanical Engineering or equivalent through experience.

· Prior experience in the design of mechanical or electromechanical components.

· Familiarity with PTC Creo is a plus.

· Enjoyment of the challenges involved in complex technological product development.

· Structured and accurate team player with a self-critical work attitude.

· Fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch or Spanish is a plus.

Our partner is looking for a Suppliers Quality Engineer to strengthen their team. This fast-growing production company located close to Bruges is globally active within the automotive sector and is known for its technology making transmissions.

Your role:

As Supplier Quality Engineer you will be responsible for the follow-up of the suppliers to make sure they proceed according to the fixed production methods and quality processes:

  • You regularly go on site to check the production methods and quality processes.
  • You report your feedback and make sure this results in approved PPAP-files (you also make sure they are accurate; you identify the missing elements and act)
  • You also act in case of deviations due to the suppliers and you follow up complaints arising from these deviations.
  • You ask the 8D’s and analyze these, together with the technical responsible engineer.
  • You are also responsible for the further follow-up and feedback.
  • Through a multidisciplinary approach, you improve the quality of the delivered products.
  • You closely work together with your colleagues from Engineering, Procurement and Quality and you report to the SQE Team Lead.

About you:

  • You have a degree in industrial engineering specialization: Electronics or Electro mechanics with respectively experience in the automotive sector or experience in the electronic components. (E-motors, Invertors, Power electronics, standard electrical components and TCU’s)
  • You have experience with the standard Quality technics (SPC, FMEA, MSA, 8D, 5 Why,…) and affinity with production processes.
  • Knowledge of any QMS system (IATF 16949; ISO 9001; etc..)
  • Willingness to travel (for short periods, variating case by case)
  • Very good communication skills: fluent English is needed! Dutch: good. German is a plus.
  • Quality minded and driven.
  • You can work independently, structured and you have an eye for detail.

Nice to have:

  • Being a certified auditor (VDA 6.3 or IATF  2nd party certified.)

  • You know how to put ISO26262 into practice based upon former industry experience.  You are a qualified / certified Functional Safety expert (AFSE or similar).
  • You are a qualified / certified Auditor at least on IATF 16949 but preferably ISO 19011.
  • Experience with assessments and audits for international programs requiring ISO26262 compliance is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge on product safety according to IATF 16949.
