Chemical Engineer specialized in Materials and Polymers

Contracting – Brussels

For our client in the automotive sector , we are looking for a Materials Engineer.

Your Responsibilities

  • Monitor EU recycling technologies through benchmarking, supplier meetings, and conferences
  • Build and maintain a tech database and technology map for recycled materials
  • Write technical reports summarizing innovations in recycling and sustainability
  • Define material requirements with suppliers and execute validation plans
  • Conduct tests (physical, emissions, aging), analyze results, and propose countermeasures
  • Support integration of recycled plastics in vehicle models (part visualization, performance validation, stakeholder coordination)
  • Update internal recycled materials database and issue validation reports
  • Oversee development and validation of painted parts (bumpers, dashboards, ABS components)
  • Manage painted parts lists, project milestones, and quality KPIs
  • Coordinate testing with suppliers, analyze results, and follow up on corrective actions
  • Attend project meetings, color validations, and supplier trials

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry with a focus on Materials Science
  • Strong knowledge of polymers and coatings
  • Experience in dual missions (Recycled Plastics & Painting)
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical part drawings
  • Solid background in materials science and testing
  • Comfortable in supplier interaction and reporting
  • Professional English proficiency
